On Monday, disaster struck at Ekpri Ikot Ene community, Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Cross River State, when an enraged 23-year-old son butchered his father, who is the village head, HRH Francis Ekpo Ene, and dumped his remains inside the family’s pit toilet for persistently accusing him of stealing his money without facts. . . According to Vanguard, the killer-son (Francis Ekpo Jnr.) supposedly acted under a powerful and diabolical influence, as he was not known to be a violent person before the sacrilegious incident.The wife of the deceased, Affiong Offiong Asuquo, said: . . “The problem started when my husband’s money started missing and he had always thought that it was his first son, who was responsible for the theft, not knowing that he was not the person involved, and he had always denied being the one. The height was when he sold his oil and kept N90,000 in a milk can and the money got missing again, he was really angry because he could not fathom why such an amount of money could get missing in his house.” . . She confided in Vanguard that the money was actually being stolen by their daughter, who after her escapade, disappeared to her boyfriend’s place and returned after they exhausted the cash, pretending as she knew nothing and the late villager head would rail accusations on the epileptic son. . . Kano prosecutes 11 women for drinking, romancing men, smoking hemp

The Faggae Outpost of the Kano State Hisbah Board (Sharia Police) on Monday said it had commenced the prosecution of 11 women for allegedly engaging in social vices.

 Salisu Umar, the Commander, Special Services of the board, said the suspects were apprehended around the Sabongari area in the metropolis. . . He said they were arrested during a special patrol. Mr. Umar said the suspects were found drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis and romancing with men other than their husbands or close relations, which is contrary to the Sharia legal system. . . He said the state had been practicing the Islamic legal code that prohibits such illicit attitudes, stressing that the board would intensify its efforts to patrol identified flash points. . . “The suspects are females between the ages of 21 and 24 and were apprehended around midnight at beer parlours in Faringida and Abedie Road in Sabongari.

 We have brought them before a competent Sharia court for prosecution,” he said. . . Mr. Umar said the board would not condone any act of immorality, stressing that it would arrest and prosecute whoever engages in such vices. 

He noted that four out of the suspects were divorcees with kids, while one of them was carrying a three-month-old pregnancy."

A letter written by Tupac Shakur during his incarceration at New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility in 1995, was auctioned off for more than 172,725, reports Complex .

The four-page letter titled “Is Thug Life Dead?” had a previous sales price of $225,000 and was penned to Death Row Records employee Nina Bhadreshwar, on May 6, 1995. “Sorry it took so long, I did get your first letter and I enjoyed it,” Pac wrote to Bhadreshwar. “It helped my spirit rebuild.”"

Nigerian lawyer who has been in coma since 2011, dies in the U.S
