Kayode cries out Eagles snub slows Stoke City interest

Austria-based striker Olanrewaju Kayode has lamented that his lack of full international caps has slowed down interest from English Premier League club Stoke City.

Kayode, who has represented Nigeria at U17, U20 and Olympic team levels, finished as third leading scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga with 13 goals, but has so far been overlooked by the Super Eagles.

“There is interest for me in Germany from clubs like Wolfsburg and Schalke, but the interest from Stoke City has slowed down because I am not playing for the Super Eagles,” he lamented.

“I believe I should be given a chance in the Eagles especially after what I have achieved with my club in Austria.”

He will need to have played at least 75% of the Eagles matches in the last two years for him to stand a chance of getting a work permit in Britain.

Update:

Man who allegedly killed his wife collapses, hospitalised in Lagos after arrest

A 50-year-old man, James Kafaru Esougi, who was arrested for allegedly killing his wife, Roselyn Esougi, in her sleep in Lagos State on Friday, has been hospitalized.

Esougi was arrested and taken to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, after which he ‘began to act sickly and unable to stand without support before he collapsed’ on Saturday, Vanguard is reporting.
The suspect was subsequently taken to Falomo General Hospital, Ikoyi for treatment.

Recall that Esougo on Friday, allegedly slit the throat of his wife, Roselyn at their residence, 8 Araromi Street, Oshodi area of the state.

The suspect who is reportedly known to be very arrogant and temperamental, is also being accused of murdering their daughter.

The ugly development played out barely one month after Lekan Shonde allegedly killed his wife in Egbeda area of the state.
