They live a dangerous life in remote lonely locations in most instances walking among the animals they are there to protect and fighting poachers, with better guns then they have. We need to support them with words and money and social media. There are many organizations that assist them with clothing, boots, rain gear, coats - many do not know some tropical areas actually get cold in the winter! These men and women also need moral support - to know the world cares about the animals they protect AND we care about them and their wellbeing. This man below is on patrol for rhino poachers - he had been attacked by a rhino while on patrol as you see by the scars on his face - and he still protects what he loves. the next time I saw him was as he was picking himself up after an elephant pushed over his guard house which sat 3 meters or 9 feet off the ground, he suffered a broken arm - and was back on patrol the next week. They are dedicated and passionate and deserve our support. Remember just as an example of the importance of their parks - the forests and grasslands. 50% of our oxygen comes from forest and grasslands - the other 50% from the oceans. 75% of fresh water comes from forests. So we save their parks - Save Big Cats and all the animals and we help save ourselves. National Geographic launched the Big Cats Initiative to raise awareness and implement change to the dire situation facing big cats.
