kidnap-and-ransom
The abductors of the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara, Alhaji Ishola Fulani-Balogun, and the Secretary of the party, Chief Bode Adekanye have demanded a ransom of N50 million.
DAILY POST recalls that duo were kidnapped on Friday by unknown gunmen along the Abuja-Lokoja Road.
The party chieftains were returning to Kwara State after attending the ongoing case of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja.
The kidnappers made the demand on Friday night after they had allowed the APC chiefs to speak with their family members.
The state governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed had described the abduction of the party chiefs as atrocious, despicable and unfortunate.
A statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba on Saturday said family members of the kidnapped APC chieftains offered to pay the abductors N10 million which they accepted.
