FIFA Fires Deputy Secretary General Kattner
World’s football governing body FIFA has fired its Deputy Secretary General, Markus Kattner, with immediate effect.
A statement released by FIFA said that an internal investigation “uncovered breaches of his fiduciary responsibilities in connection with his employment contract.”
Fifa said that it would not make any further comment, but it would “continue its cooperation with the relevant authorities.”
Kattner stepped in as FIFA’s acting secretary general in September replacing Jerome Valcke, who is currently facing a 12-year- ban.
