ASUU Threatens Nationwide Strike . .

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has threatened to embark on a nationwide strike to press home its demands for the implementation of its 2009 agreement with the Federal Government. The ASUU Lagos Zone Coordinator, Prof. Olusoji Sowande, said this at a news conference yesterday in Lagos. Sowande said that the union was planning to toe this part after several efforts to ensure that the government address the pending demands, proved abortive. He said that the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on funding of state universities, breaches of the conditions of service and re-negotiation of the agreement, were still pending. The coordinator also mentioned other demands like the exclusion of Nigerian universities from Pension Management Company and non-release of NEEDS Assessment Intervention Fund.
He said that funding of state universities, earned academic allowance and renegotiation of the agreement were parts of the outstanding issues. Sowande recalled that the union had embarked on strike in 2012 and 2013 as part of the efforts to make the government implement the agreement, adding that the issues remained unresolved."

Robbery Gang In Ikorodu Robs A Family For 6 hours .

The Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, has arrested a four-man gang that had allegedly been terrorising residents of the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Punch Metro learnt that the suspects – Akin Ayotunde, Isaac Ogbonna, Sola Dede and Sodiq Lawal – specialised in lurking around houses at night and switching off their victims’ generators before attacking them.  They, however, met their Waterloo last Thursday when they were arrested after invading the apartment of one Bello Hakeem in the Igbe area.
Punch was told that the suspects spent six hours in the victim’s duplex and went away with his car, generator, money, phones, Automated Teller Machine cards, modems, laptops and cash.
They also stole his wife’s jewellery and withdrew N100,000 using one of the ATM cards. Hakeem told a Punch correspondent that around 11.09pm on Tuesday, he observed that his generator suddenly went off and he asked two of his children to go outside and fix the problem. “About five minutes after they left, they were forced back into the house by four men, who were armed with knives. “They ordered us to cooperate with them.
They searched the house and made away with three laptops, six phones, three ATM cards, a new 3.5KVA generator, one 75alms battery, two modems, jewellery, cash, and my Toyota Corolla. They held my family hostage for six hours before leaving at about 6am the next day,” he added. Hakeem, an environmental scientist, said he reported the incident at the Ijede Police Station, adding that the suspects were able to withdraw N100,000 from his First Bank account before he deactivated all the stolen ATM cards.
He said two days after the incident, a friend called him that a car that looked like his own had been put up for sale. He said operatives from the SCIID, Yaba, were alerted and the suspects were rounded up. The four suspects, who confessed to the crime, said they operated with knives to avoid bloodshed.
The gang leader, Ayotunde, 27, said, “I used to sell garri with my grandma in a market before a former Governor of Lagos State
Babatunde Fashola, demolished shops in the market. I tried another job, but it didn’t work. “I then sold the idea of robbing houses to my friends and we agreed to use only knives and not guns. We always lurk around developing areas in Ikorodu at night, look for any house that had its generator on, scale the fence and put off the generator. When the occupants of the house come out to check the generator, we attack. We made N60,000 from our first operation in March. “I was arrested when the man whom I had given the man’s car to called me that he had found a buyer. He said the buyer had paid N700,000 for the vehicle and that I should come for my share. We agreed to meet at a restaurant in Ojota. But on getting there, I discovered that it was a set up and I was arrested.” Ogbonna, 23, an indigene of Ebonyi State, said he was looking for money for the treatment of his elder sister when he was invited to join the gang.
“My sister needed blood transfusion and I had to look for money by all means. I got N25,000 from the operation,” he added. The third suspect, 24-year-old Dede, from Ondo State, said he joined the group because he was told nobody would be killed, adding that he needed money to change his apartment. He said, “An Alfa told me to move out of my family house because there was a spiritual force working against the success of men in the house. I needed money to change my apartment.” The police also arrested the receiver of some of the stolen items, Akeem Lawal, who claimed that the suspects lied to him that the goods were imported. The Police Public Relations officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest, adding that investigations were ongoing. She said, “The last house they robbed belonged to a couple who quickly alerted the police. They were trailed and arrested. They are currently undergoing interrogation at the command.”"

Nigerian Doctor, 55, 'Caught With Extreme Pornography On His Phone Including A Video Of A Man Having Sex With A SNAKE' .

A doctor was caught with a stash of 'extreme' pornography, including a video of a man having sex with a snake, a court heard. Cyprian Okoro, 55, allegedly stored the images on his Samsung mobile phone having received them via mobile messaging app WhatsApp, the Old Bailey heard. They included three videos of a woman having sex with a dog, one of a man having sex with a snake and one of a woman having sex with a horse, jurors were told. The defendant is on trial charged with five counts of possessing pornography of a 'grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise obscene character'. Okoro is also accused of one charge of possessing indecent images of a child relating to a video of a two-year-old boy. Opening the trial, prosecutor Nicola Devas told jurors they would be spared from watching the videos as the question of whether they were indecent or extreme was not at issue. The footage came to light when, on August 28 2013, Okoro's Samsung phone was seized by police and examined by specialist officers from Norfolk Constabulary before being returned. The forensic examination found three of the videos, including the one of a toddler, had been stored on a password protected specialist App or 'vault', the court heard. In February 2014, the defendant was arrested and his phone examined by police for a second time. The indecent video and footage of a woman having sex with a dog were still in the vault while other images had been deleted, the court heard. In his police interview, Okoro said pictures would be sent to him on WhatsApp and automatically go into his photos gallery. As the indecent video had been manually moved to the vault, Mrs Devas told jurors it was clear he had viewed it. She said: 'What we say is he has received videos on WhatsApp, downloaded on his phone and three specifically moved into a further password protected vault.' Okoro, of Streatham, south west London, denies the charges against him. The trial continues.

Preacher beaten black and blue for taking gospel to the gym . .

A Kenyan preacher may have to be more careful in future when choosing where to spread the gospel after getting a beating in a gym where he had taken the word of God. Like any day in his diary, Pastor Levi, a freelance preacher visited a Kakamega fitness gym early morning as he usually does in the county market, CBD, private homes and businesses. His message was clear: gym goers are lazy gluttons who don’t read the word. “No one goes to the gym with plausible intention,” he started off his sermon with a high-pitched tone that brought things to standstill in the gym. These words got the attention of the gym instructor but the pastor put his forth case. “Allow me ten minutes I share a word with your members,” he pleaded. The gym instructor Pablo, was just about to eject him when the trainers who had turned up for morning aerobics asked him to let the pastor be. “Muache aseme chenye anataka (Let him say what he came for),” they demanded. Pablo let him be and gave him only five minutes if he had anything important to say, “You are greedy eaters and drinkers who never fast and pray that’s why you have registered for aerobics. You spend thousands every month to cut weight when you could simply pray and fast then take the thousands to orphans and widows if you were true to the biblical teachings,” he said. Then pointing at a pair of four ladies in tight training gear he added; “There are ladies who come here with sole intent to get the body shape to win people’s husbands, those you call sponsors.
That will take you to hell it is time to pray and fast the good shape and good husband will come with fasting,” he added.
At this point trainers wondered why the man of the cloth had been given time to address them in the first place, “Fukuzeni ako kamtu (Kick that guy out),” said a twenty-something year old woman.
Pastor Levi also made it clear that he was also not impressed with the “satanic” dressing at the gym. “What can someone not see in this woman,” he said as he learned towards the cleavage of a trainer.

Doctors Mistakenly Remove Man's Kidneys During Surgery, Man Finds Out Days Later. .

A 25-year-old man in southwest China’s Yunnan province had his both kidneys removed during a surgery where he was lying unconsciously after a traffic accident on March 10, 2016. Neither did the man nor his family members accompanying him know about this until the patient was transferred to another hospital in the province and couldn’t urinate for days. On March 20, the doctor informed him that he had lost both of his kidneys. The medical record showed that the man had severe injury in his right kidney when he was rushed to the hospital from the traffic accident scene. The record also indicated that nothing wrong was detected on his left kidney. The hospital later said that the man had horseshoe kidney, which is a disorder that the patient's kidneys fuse together to form a horseshoe-shape. The hospital side also claimed that the man was in a very critical condition for too much blood loss when he was sent there. Hence they proceeded with the surgery, even though they were aware that the surgeons were not fully capable of handling such kind of surgery. Ever after being informed that both of his kidneys, including the healthy left one, were taken in the surgery, the man and his family had been demanding for proper investigation and report.  It was not until August 16 that the man received the report issued by Yunnan Medical Association, stating that the hospital shall take major responsibility for the malpractice. Currently the man is still waiting for kidney transplant.

I Have Been Sleeping In Graves For 30 Years To Get Powers" - Ghanaian Man .

Philip Mensah, is a 40-year-old man from the New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana who has shocked people with his bizarre lifestyle. The man revealed that he has spent 30 years with the dead in their damaged tombs, and according to him, he is taking all that step so as to gain spiritual powers. A report on Adom News reveals that Mr. Mensah made the claim during an interview with Brty Fm, a Koforidua-based radio station. In an interview, he revealed that in his quest to become spiritually powerful, he ended up under the tutelage of Togbe Azakli, a spiritualist at Anum Boso in the region, who ordered him to vacate his original place of abode to the broken tomb. He disclosed that “my desire is to gain powers that will enable me to discover hidden secrets like how to tell when one will die, one’s future, how to retrieve stolen items, how to make spiritual money, among many others, made me pay heed to the advice of Togbe Azakli who directed me to spend time with the dead in their broken tombs to gain the spiritual powers that I have been wishing for over the past years.” According to him, he successfully completed his stay with the dead in the tombs but landed into trouble after the ritual ceremony. He said he has become addicted to sleeping in broken tombs ever since he completed his spiritual assignment. Explaining further, Mr Mensah stated that though he attained the enormous powers, he has also cultivated a negative attitude that is negatively affecting his life. “I cannot spend even two hours of my life without visiting a cemetery. I battle with different spirits, but I do not suffer any spiritual attack whenever I stay in my new home- cemetery. “Life has become unbearable for me because I cannot even stay with the living and make money out of the powers I have. All efforts to stop this behaviour have proved futile. I am now living the life of the dead. I advise everybody to be cautious when it comes to issues of spiritualism, especially those that are not related to God.

Why I'm scared of marriage-Ebube Nwagbo .

Nollywood Actress, Ebube Nwagbo, has revealed her fear of marriage following the high cases of divorce in the industry. The actress told ‘Star Gist’ in a recent interview.... “Marriage is always going to be at the right time, and don’t ask me when is the right time. “I’m single but I’m not searching, Why would I?Well, I am seeing somebody, but starting my own family I can’t say for now.But I will do that at the right time.I don’t like doing something and later jump out of it.I take my time to do whatsoever I want to do making sure it is the right decision.
I am scared of marriage, we see divorce everyday. Although no one goes into marriage believing she would soon jump out of it.

Marriage in the limelight is not easy, even those outside it are not surviving easily. For me, before I take the decision, it just has to be right. “I have learnt a lot from other people’s mistake and that has helped me a lot. “Being in a relationship alone is not easy not to mention marriage, I just want to do it right to avoid regret. So I am treading carefully.

Egegonye had told his childhood friend, Michael Oluchukwu, that despite the wealth of his sister, she was stingy. . . This made Oluchukwu to send a text message to Franca, giving her an ultimatum of 12 hours to pay N300,000 or risk being kidnapped and killed. It was learnt that Franca called Oluchukwu and pleaded for her life, saying she could only afford N50,000. . . Oluchukwu reportedly agreed and sent her his account details. However, it was learnt that Franca had yet to send the money when she and her four children went missing from their home on Mayowa Street, Ago-Palace Way, Okota, Lagos. . . Her husband then petitioned the State Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, after receiving a text message from his wife detailing the death threat she received, which prompted her to run away with the children. . . The police used the account number and phone number of Oluchukwu to arrest the duo. A remorseful Egegonye later said: "I blame myself for everything that happened. I am now repentant. I wasn’t praying at home before I came here. Now, I lead the devotion in the cell.”.... and even perform miracles....

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

A man rented a house and moved in with his family. After 2 years, the rent was increased from #400,000 to #500,000. He didn't complain because he liked the house.
The following year, he couldn't come up with the money and the agent was on his neck.
The wife saw what the husband was going through and decided to help. She borrowed the money and gave the husband to pay the rent.
The husband was indeed very happy that his wife was so helpful and he paid back later.
2 years later, the house rent was increased to #700,000 and the man became upset.
So he begged the agent to introduce him to the landlord so that he could plead with him but the agent bluntly refused.
The man decided to do an underground investigation to uncover who the landlord is. What he found out really shook him: The house belonged to his wife.
The question is: What will you do if you were the man and what will you do if you were the woman?  Please be sincere with your comment.......please give your comments

WORDS OF WISDOM!

A)Thoughts
When you are alone and sitting all by yourself, a lot begins to run through your mind and sometimes this could lead to one getting carried away entirely into somewhat abstract land that has positive or negative effects. This state is not healthy for us when on the negative path hence deep thoughts are sometime disastrous.

B)Tongue
When in midst of friends, we tend to have interactions and eventually forget what we have said in midst of discussions. It is pertinent that we have discussions of limit  when it comes to friends because our tongues brings out our innermost persons that friends and foes capitalize on when trials comes.Lets be mindful of what comes out of our mouth.

C)Vexation
Vexation itself is a bad spirit that destroys. It is a killer of so many things. It destroys Life,Friendship, Marriage, etc. Vexation has destroyed.
Nowadays, short temperament  can be prevented via self control.  When Angered, take charge by controlling  your temper

C)Behavior
The word "Behavior" is like clothes that we put on our body.It goes a long way with you to anywhere,it is recognized in a second by people around you, that's the more reason we should always put up a good behavior to show how our heart is and to show how responsible we are.Lets also be mindful of the acts we put up in the midst of others.

Relationship!

As a couple you should desire to establish new friendship together especially with other couples that would be role models and able to provide support and encouragement. What happens to your old friends then? Marriage does establish limits on your involvements with them especially if they are still single.
You cannot have your usual girl’s or guy’s night outs without the express consent of your spouse.
You would be looking for big trouble by keeping close relationships with friends of the opposite sex. You would be establishing a mine field and breeding ground for jealously and distrust. It doesn’t however mean you cannot have a friend or colleague of the opposite sex whom you relate with from time to time. If they are worth your time and effort the courteous thing to do is to introduce them to your spouse.
If they are not comfortable speaking with your spouse, it is an alarm bell. The reality of friendships in marriage is that you cannot live as a single person anymore.
The two are now one. No individual in the marriage has the sole decision to establish friendships at the expense of the other. You shouldn’t have any friend your spouse is unaware of, that is if you have nothing to hide.

Corper knocks out the teeth of a fellow corper who refused to date him .

According to The Nation, National Youth Service Corps headquarters Abuja is yet to officially respond to the case of Temitope Adedewe, who was battered and her two teeth removed with a hammer, by a male corps member, Oluwabusiyi Adeola Bolarinde. . . Also, her NYSC discharge certificate, which was withheld for purportedly breaching the NYSC code of conduct and reporting the matter to the police in Arochukwu, Abia State, where the incident happened, is yet to be issued to her. . . This is despite a strong allegation that her assailant, Bolarinde, is already studying for his master’s degree at the University of Ibadan, which could not have been possible if he didn’t produce his NYSC discharge certificate. . . Adewewe’s nightmare began when in June of 2015; Bolarinde started making advances at her. She had known him from their undergraduate days at the History Department of OAU, Ile-Ife, but said she always stayed away from him “because he was the aggressive type.” . . “The first time I spoke to him was when we were in camp.” Adewewe said. Both however got posted to the same LGA and place of primary assignment, giving Bolarinde the opportunity to start pressing her for a relationship, because they were also staying in the same lodge. . . With every attempt to woo her failing, he suddenly decided to make her life miserable and he resorted to insulting her at any given opportunity, with Adewewe returning the insults at times, and ignoring at other times. . . Matters later got to a head one day, after Adewewe told him to stop threatening him via Whatsapp, and Bolarinde allegedly went into her room and started beating her with his belt. He later picked up a hammer banged it on her mouth, making her lose some teeth. . . All attempts to get Bolarinde's side of the story proved abortive as he maintained his position, citing the NYSC code of conduct, which he said does not allow corpers to give audience to the press. And till now, NYSC is yet to officially address the issue.

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a legionnaire impersonating official of the Lagos State Taskforce who robs motorcycle riders popularly called "Okada" in Agege and its environs.
The suspect, Umam Hrmid, 48, from Borno, a 2LT of Nigerian Legion, Lagos State Command, was arrested on Friday evening at about 10:30 p.m. by RRS operatives in Agege after dispossessing one Amin Al–Hassan of his motorcycle. . . He told his victim that he was impounding his motor cycle for plying restricted area and for operating at prohibited hour. Bewildered, Al–Hassan began to plead for negotiation but Hrmid told him to bring N20, 000:00 but the victim could only produce N5,000:00, which the suspect rejected. . . "When he refused to accept the N5,000:00, he mounted the bike and rode it towards Iyana Ipaja. I begged him but he told me to get down from the bike because I sat behind him while his partner rode the bike they brought", Al–Hassan explained. ''I forced the bike to a stop by removing its key from the ignition, and I got down.... We were arguing when two passers-by joined us and they requested for his identity card when he told them that he was a policeman with the Lagos State Taskforce.. Reluctantly, he flashed his ID card before them but one of them was so swift to snatch it from him. Then, he began to chase the guy, who quickly ran towards RRS patrol team nearby who arrested him and collected the dagger he was holding." . . At the RRS's Headquarters, three other victims from whom Hrmid had collected bikes weeks before he was caught on Wednesday, came with particulars of their bikes, alleging that Hrmid, along with an accomplice, whom they described took their bikes. The victims, Shuaib, Abdullahi, Umaru Hassan and Salisu Umaru, stated that the suspect collected their motor cycles in a spate of three weeks
and that one his victims was shot at a close range in the cheek at Shoretire Street, Agege. One of the victims, Shuaib Abdullahi explained that the suspect at around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday last week, took his bike, FKJ 259 QA, Boxer model, from him, under the pretext that he was taking him to Taskforce Office. "He drove me to Ile–Zik before threatening me to get down or he would kill him at the deserted place. I requested for his number and he gave me a fake number. I called the number immediately he left but the number didn't go.... I learnt he was arrested yesterday, that was why we came to RRS to collect our okada from him," he said. The suspect, however, failed to deny the allegations of the three other victims when they confronted him. Speaking on the development, the Police PPRO, SP, Dolapo Badmos confirmed the arrest of the suspect, stressing that his arrest might help shed more light on reported cases of motor cycles theft in Agege and its environs. GOD IS GREAT

@ubifranklintriplemg: "Tell Me Why you Have Given Up on God? Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
