FG issues alert on fake anti-malarial drug, quinine sulphate, in circulation


A statement by the FG said the Federal Ministry of Health has received a medical alert that two confirmed falsified versions of Quinine Sulphate, containing zero active pharmaceutical ingredients, are currently in circulation in Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo. . . One of the fake products is Quinine Sulfate 300 mg with 1000 Tablets per container, Batch Number 10H05, expiry date 09/2018 and it's manufactured in 09/2014 by Novadina Pharmaceutical Limited, London, U.K. . . The other version of the fake drug is Quinine Sulphate 300mg with 100 Tablets per container; batch F4387, expiry date 11/18 and its date of manufacture is 12/14. It was manufactured in India by CAD Pharm. . . Nigerians are advised to be vigilant and report to the nearest National Agency for Food and Drug Administration office anywhere the drugs is spotted. The ministry urges Nigerians to also report it to the following GSM nos:
