INEC has issued a Certificate of Return to Uche Ogah as the new Governor of Abia State .

INEC’s Director of Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzi, says this follows an order by the Abuja Federal High Court mandating INEC to immediately issue Certificate of Return to Mr. Uche Ogah who came second at the last PDP primaries in Abia State.

A court in Abuja, on Monday asked INEC to cede the Certificate of Return issued to Mr Okezie Ikpeazu, to his opponent. Giving his ruling, Justice Okon Abang, said that on the account of fake tax returns during the primaries, Dr. Ikpeazu was never qualified to run in the PDP primaries as a governorship candidate.

The judge also ordered the Chief Judge of the state to swear in Uche Ogah as the substantive Governor of Abia State. Meanwhile, the sitting governor, Ikpeazu, appealed the ruling after the pronouncements of the court and told indigenes of the state not to panic.... they're still nt panicking, but just only shaking...."

Dasukigate: Metuh gives up legal fight, offers to refund N400m, supports Buhari's anti-corruption war .

The former National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh, today, said he was prepared to pay back his share of N400m out of the $2.1billion cash meant for arms, which was allegedly diverted to political purposes.

Metuh, who has been on trial in the past few months, said he has had enough of legal travails. He said he had been in talks with the Ministry of Justice, the EFCC and other necessary bodies on how to refund the money and resolve the issue.
He came up with the offer in a statement through his counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN). He said although the cash was released to him by GEJ, he did not know the source as at the time. He said since the EFCC presented a document on the source of the money in court, he had made up his mind to willingly refund the N400m. .
The statement reads in part: ”Our client has indeed approached his family, friends and associates to mobilise funds to refund the entire money regardless of the fact that it had been expended and that part of the money had been recovered from one of the prosecution witnesses.

It is pertinent to restate our client’s continued support for the anti-corruption campaign, which is necessary to ensure probity in the affairs of Nigeria to the extent that it is conducted within the rule of law.”.... on this note, he joins all well meaning Nigerians in saying 'Sai Buhari.'...."

Kaduna State government allegedly abandons boy whose eyes were plucked out
.
.
Journalist Owolabi wrote: "I didn't want to share this before, but I just have to, so that we are all aware. Months ago, Abubakar Usman lost his two eyes to suspected ritualists in Zaria, Kaduna State. The wicked humans used knife and other sharp objects to cut off the innocent four years old boy's eyes. .
.
Since my recent journalistic focus is on reconstruction and resettlement of the internally displaced persons in the North-East, I didn't really pay a keen attention to Abu's case. Especially when I heard that the Kaduna State government, under the leadership of my friend, Nasir el-Rufai, had risen to the boy's case-- pledging to see to his welfare and education. .
.
A very good friend, recently, raised Abu's issue with me and insisted I go check on him. My friend is interested in Abu's education. "I wanna ensure this boy go to school so he becomes somebody in life," my friend said. .
.
For weeks, I was calling the Kaduna State Police PRO so I will be able to track Abu in Zaria. The officer wouldn't pick my calls, neither did he return them. As a journalist, I then used other techniques to locating Abu and his family in Zaria. I spent some moments with Abu and his family today in Zaria. .
.
In the coming week, I should publish a comprehensive report on Abu. What saddens me? The Kaduna State government hasn't redeemed its pledge; of taking care of Abu and seeing him through school! Abu has been abandoned! "We were only given N180,000 and nothing else since then," Usman, Abu's father told me. .
.
The good news? Help is on the way for Abu! I won't leave Zaria until we enrol him in a school I found for him today!""

Lagos hospital detains woman, triplets over inability to pay N35,000 billBy Ameh Comrade Godwin on June 29, 2016@dailypostngr

A housewife, Gloria Okore and her triplets have been detained by the management of a private hospital in Lagos over her inability to settle outstanding medical bills of N35,000 out of N120,000 incurred at the hospital.
The woman, who delivered two girls and a boy on May 10 in Bessylva Hospital and Maternity Home, located at 60, Surulere Street, Dopemu-Agege, Lagos State, has been begging for help to raise the balance and cater for the children, but no succour has come her way.

It was gathered that the babies were delivered preterm (seven months), and one of the triplets, a female, died two weeks ago as there was no incubator to use for the babies.

Gloria Okore told Vanguard that due to the hash economic situation in the country, the family needed the goodwill of Nigerians to take care of the babies.

According to the 27-year-old Gloria, “I had the triplets through normal delivery, but the babies were born prematurely. We were charged N120,000. My husband hawks fairly-used clothes (okrika). It took him time to raise N85,000, which he paid in installments.

“I am from Owerri in Imo State, while my husband is from Abia State. We got married three years ago. Before I had these triplets, I had twins who died immediately after birth. When I was pregnant for the triplets, I was very sick; I could not walk long distance because my belly was very big.

“I want government to help pay the balance of the hospital bills and also help us with basic necessities for the babies. Right now, I cannot work because the babies are still young.”

Sen.Shehu Sani tutors Saraki and Ekwerenmadu on life in prison- DailyTrust

According to the news outlet, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, have been tutored on how to live in a prison. Saraki and Ekweremadu, are standing trial over alleged forging of the Senate Rules book.
.
It was gathered that Sen. Shehu Sani, who spent four years in various prisons across the country during the era of late Gen. Sani Abacha, tutored the Senate leaders at the Court during their forgery case.

A Senator who was present, said Sani lectured them when Justice Yusuf Halilu stood down the forgery suit for one hour. His words: "Sani came and lectured the presiding officers on life in the prison. He told them that in the prison there is ranking rule like at the National Assembly. .
.
He advised them to cooperate with the Governor in the prison. He said after registration, they will be given plates for meals. Sani also told them that they are going to share toilet, bathroom with other inmates and that it is the Governor of the prison that will allocate bed space to them."

When contacted on phone, Sani confirmed lecturing the presiding officers on prison, saying: "Yes, is anything bad in what I did? They are my colleagues and as a former inmate, I felt I should educate them on how to live in the prison, so that they will not be caught unaware.

People with disability in Africa

People with disability in Africa are often cursed at and insulted with their predicament. They are often called names as,Ode,Ozuor,Onye apari,Arindi, whereas in the western and developed country they are called "Special Citizens" given all benefits to Coexist with the non physically challenged citizens.

I had walked into a scene last week, when a mother of an autistic child who had an argument with a neighbor was being called all sort of names as Iya ( mother) of all names ascribed to physically challenged people in Nigeria.

My question is "Where is the Godliness and the love your neighbor as yourself" that we hear in churches and prayer places everyday?

Do people truly know or truly believe that God doesn't make mistakes and that we are all created in God's image handicapped or not handicapped?

Texas mother fatally shoots 2 daughters; police kill her

FULSHEAR, Texas (AP) — Police say a Houston-area woman fatally shot her two daughters before officers shot and killed her.

The incident happened about 5 p.m. Friday in front of a home just outside the Houston suburb of Fulshear. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office identified the mother as 42-year-old Christy Sheats and her daughters as 22-year-old Taylor Sheats and 17-year-old Madison

Sheriff Troy Nehls says the shooting apparently climaxed a family argument, but the reason for the argument remains unclear.

Mother fatally shoots unknown man after discovering him in her child's bedroom

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police in Portland, Oregon, say a 33-year-old woman returning home with her two young children shot and killed an intruder in one of her children's bedrooms.

Police say the woman cooperated with investigators after the shooting early Sunday and wasn't arrested. The woman and her 5 and 10-year-old children weren't hurt.

A neighbor told Portland TV station KOIN-TV that the home had been vacant for some time before the family moved in and that squatters were periodically in the home.

Police have identified the 59-year-old man who was fatally shot as David Daniel McCrary of Gresham, Oregon. The Oregon State Medical Examiner determined that McCrary died of a single gunshot wound.

Detectives say they haven't been able to determine why McCrary broke into the home, but they noted a recent report indicating he may have been struggling with mental health issues.
